Greater Nanticoke Community Garden

The Greater Nanticoke Community Garden is a community based garden focused on ecological restoration, sustainability and creating public spaces for learning, eating and enjoyment of nature. Portions of our garden are meant to provide wholesome vegetables to our local food banks, while other portions are meant to provide a space for our community to plant for themselves.

Now, our community garden needs your help. The garden began as a concept and has grown to the point of realization. This year, with the dedication of many volunteers of the Nanticoke community, we began to set up and plant.  Through the excitement, we hoped that where we planted our garden was going to be safe and respected but that has not been the case.  On June 9th, the garden was found in a sad state. After a weekend of planting, many of our plants, some tools, pallets, and a bit of soil were stolen from our site.

We are hoping to raise enough funds to have a fence installed as well as possibly storage shed. We are also hoping to acquire more soil to replant and get our garden back to full capacity.
