We The People Will Fund Representation
Donation protected
We Have Stories is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides financial grants for resources and support to storytellers and content creators from diverse communities to help increase positive representation of these groups in media.
"We need more diversity. We're not telling the stories of many, we're telling the stories of a few...This is not how we want to be working and we need to tell the stories of all." - Jessica Chastain
At We Have Stories we believe that empathy is one of the most powerful tools that can be used to build collaboration through learning and understanding amongst people. That collaboration and understanding can lead to a less divisive and more equitable world for everyone.
We see storytelling and media as a method of building empathy.
Learning about other people's lives and hearing their stories allows us to see the similarities in one another and develop an appreciation for experiences we haven't had. That is how we plant the seeds that can change the world.
All donations are tax-deductible.
Julia Hart, Director of "Fast Color" and Jordan Horowitz, Producer of "La La Land" had this to say:
