DChamp Memorial Scholarship Fund

Donation protected
We are establishing an endowed scholarship at Florida A&M University in tribute to one of our Fallen Rattlers, Daryl Champion.
We are not accepting donations here at this time please use: https://secure.qgiv.com/for/ famu/restriction/ DarylChampionMemorialScholarsh ip1817/

to give directly to the scholarship at FAMU.

He gave to the University as a student leader from 1993-1997 where he was for most considered the heartbeat of SGA.  One of his proudest accomplishments was leading the drive to expand the programming of FAMU's radio station 90.5 from an almost exclusively “oldies” format to one which included shows that offered diverse music, engaging radio personalities and comic bits. He continued on as an ardent supporter of FAMU until his untimely death at the age of 42.
After FAMU, he returned to his hometown of Gary, Indiana where he contributed greatly to his community as a business leader and inspired legions of people from all walks of life through a flourishing career in graphic design and print illustration.
He was also the graphic designer for DancExcel, a creative arts center in Gary, Indiana founded by his sister Dionne. He lent his talent to print on behalf of the center illustrating an original children’s storybook, “The Spirit of the Baobab Tree” based on the DancExcel production of the same name.
Daryl touched many lives as he believed in the potential of people and the power of media and images to influence for the good.
Hence, we endeavor to continue his legacy in this small way by establishing this scholarship for a deserving FAMU student who exemplifies Daryl's characteristics of service, generosity and dedication. In order to endow the scholarship we will need to reach eventually $25,000 so please help us reach our and hopefully surpass our goal of $5000 this first week.
**UPDATE**In less than 3 days (from 6/3 at midnight to 6/6 at 5p et), we hit our goal of $5000 to seed the endowed scholarship.  WOW! Simply amazing.  Daryl was indeed loved. The support has been overwhelming.  Please help us continue to raise money toward our ultimate goal of $25,000 to endow the scholarship for all time (and all future generations) as we raise our first week goal to $10,000.

These two videos illustrate the Daryl that we all knew and loved.
