Valley View Playground Project

The Valley View Elementary PTO is organized for the purpose of supporting the education of children at Valley View Elementary by fostering relationships among schools, parents, teachers and the community at large. Valley View PTO is a 501(c)(3) charity. As a result, your donation may be tax deductible.

 

Project Overview
This universally accessible playground will be built at Valley View Elementary School.  It will serve students of Valley View on a daily basis as well as students from other schools in the area and to the community at large.

Project Details
We will provide universal accessibility to enable children of all abilities to play side-by-side with their peers, creating an integrated environment where compassion and acceptance can flourish and learning is fostered through interactive play. We want to erase the invisible line on the playground that separates people. We want to provide a place where children of all abilities can play side by side and learn from each other and build relationships.

You should support this program because it will make the world a better place for disabled children and their able-bodied peers, both at Valley View and in the community at-large. Not only is this important for the self-esteem of those who have a disability, but it is important for those who don’t. Learning to live, work and play with others is an important lesson for everyone.

Fundraising Goal
Through the generosity of our many donors, including the Harley-Davidson, Roundy’s, Quad/Graphics, Community Memorial Hospital Foundation and many generous individuals, we have already purchased the playground equipment.

 

However, we need to raise $38,000 to install the equipment.  We are well on our way, but we need your help to get us over the finish line!
