No mom should have to sell her car

As a member of a group of Andover Mums on Facebook, I came across a post today from a woman that I have never even heard of.  She was asking for a very low price for her van.  Her only car, of which she was going to sell because she wanted her 2 older children to have a fun summer while she spends the summer in Boston with Marleny (her 6 year old daughter), who will need to undergo procedures that no one, especially no child should have to endure.  I was compelled to start this campaign for Claudia and her family as she (obviously) has a lot on her plate.  I gave her a call to really feel out the situation and learned that her family recently lost everything in the fire at Royal Crest in Andover.  She did not ask for anything from anyone, nor did she even think to.  When I asked how she got through it she said she was blessed by the generosity of the Red Cross.
Claudia is a mom, and a single mom.  She seems like a great mom.  A mom that would give up anything for her children.  I do not want her to have to sell her car to offer her children a fun summer away from the constant treatments that she will have to go through with Marleny.
Marleny will be able to have her mom right there with her this summer during these procedures, the ONLY thing that she needs during this, as she is in an amazing place for medical care.
Marley (7) and Quelsi (12) will be able to go to Florida and stay with their grandparents.  With this fund, Claudia will pay for 2 round trip flights to Florida, be able to give her parents money for food and clothes for the kids (all clothes were lost in the fire) and offer the kids the opportunity to go to a couple of theme parks this summer or do some other exciting activities.
Marley and Quelsi have sacrificed a lot for their sister to be able to get all of the care and attention that she needs and this is a great opportunity for every member of this family.
Any extra money will help Claudia relax about her bills while she focuses on what is important right now, which is getting Marleny better.
When I spoke with Claudia, she was overwhelmed with the fact that anyone would just "give money" to help her family.
Below is the story that Claudia sent to me to share with all of you.

"Marleny was born 8/2/08 at TUFTS weighing 3lbs. She was born with Sickle Cell Disease.  In short it is a severe hereditary form of anemia in which a mutated form of hemoglobin distorts the red blood cells into a crescent shape at low oxygen levels. It causes extreme, excruciating pain and organ failure.
Marleny's first crisis was at 6months old when she had spleen sequestration and lost complete function of her spleen. This was her first of many blood transfusions. Since, she has been placed on Hydroxyurea (an oral type of quemo med to help prevent crisis) and has had at least one blood transfusion a month along with a whole lot of other issues.
She's now 6 years old (will be 7 this summer) and she weighs 30lbs.
We've been through a lot, and my older children (7 and 12) have had to miss a lot of the "fun growing up" because of Marleny's health issues.
I'm a single mom so it's tough but we've managed so far.
I would like to get Marley (my 7yr old Son) and Quelsi (my 12 yr old daughter) to my parents in FL this summer.
I was asking for $2600 for my van figuring it would at least cover some of the expenses. (Flights, clothes, food and some spending money while they're there)
Marleny is a patient at the TUFTS medical center Pediatric Hematology & Oncology Clinic at the Floating Hospital for Children.
We hope to find a match soon for her bone marrow transplant. But will be doing a few different things to help her along the way this summer. (Having her tonsils and adenoids removed to improve oxygen intake at night) and a few other things."

If you are able to donate, ANYTHING will help.
