Maya was diagnosed with tongue thrust or reverse swallowing in March of 2014. We never imagined this issue would cause so much orthodontic damage, while we waited for our dental insurance to kick in. Tongue thrust has caused her teeth to turn, flip and grow oddly. We need to get this fixed.
Our dental insurance kicked in effective March 2015, when we had our first ortho visit. She has so much damage to the aligment of her teeth, she needs a lot of work. Our insurance only covered 40% of the needed care. While we are doing everything we can to pay for the care, we have given them our last $700. We are in still in need of $800 for Maya to start the next part of her dental care, Braces. She currently has the expander but that does little for the alignment of her teeth.
She has been bullied at school and made fun of relentlessly. My once confident daughter, is now scared to smile. Although I realize the name calling hurts her, smiling in the mirror hurts her more. My heart aches for her. We have done everything we can to start this process, but we are out of options. We do not have family members willing to help and more than anything, I want my daughter's confidence to come back. I want to see her beautiful smile again and watch her grow into a confident young lady.
Anything helps and I pray we can get enough to start with her next level of care.
Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts.
