The Northeast Veterans Business Resource Center (NEVBRC) is a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to help veterans start and grow small businesses. .
NEVBRC trains veterans in skills necessary to start businesses, and provides tools for veterans already in business to improve or rehabilitate that business. The Business Center offers state-of-the-art business courses and training through a variety of certified and licensed curriculum as well as workshops, seminars, and mentoring by area business professionals. These services include but are not limited to technology workshops, financial literacy, marketing research, accessing capital, surveys, and federal procurement/government contracting.
There are over 950,000 veterans and more than 132,000 veteran owned small businesses in New England.Since 2007, we have helped almost 8000 veteran entrepreneurs in the six New England states (ME, NH, VT, MA, RI and CT) get started. In November 2012, we were named by US Senate's Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee as one of the top 3 veteran business outreach centers in the US.
From April 2010 to April 2015, we were funded by a grant from the US Small Business Administration. However, on April 13 we found out via an SBA Press Release that the SBA had named Syracuse University as their Veteran Business Outreach Center for New England. They have no presence, knowledge or relationships with veterans in this area.
The funds raised via this GoFundMe program will allow NEVBRC to continue to operate. Funds will cover one part time office adminstrative person, two part time counselors, office expenses and travel costs to veteran events in New England, for at least one year.
