Hello, my name is Emily and my husband Branch and I are honored to be a part of a medical mission group to Tonga. While there, my husband, who is a certified Prosthetist and Orthotist (CPO) will be custom fabricating prosthetic sockets for amputees. We will use donated prosthetic feet and other components to below knee (BK) amputees to offer them the same quality of care given to amputees in the US. We will also provide the amputees with a second prosthetic designed by 2ft Prosthetics, for clinical trial.
We are going with a group that will be working on diabetes prevention. An astounding 27% of Tongans are diabetic. The group wants to help the nation change this future. Please watch this video from KSL to learn a little more about the medical crisis in Tonga and what is being done.
