Transforming Lives Through Arts

Donation protected

Be one of the privileged people who will help to impact the lives of these 4 young artists from four different areas of risk (slums) in Rio de Janeiro.

Guilherme França is  from a single mom family  and his music talent, with  support,  can be the platform to  a  better life in the future.
Suellen Coelho lives with her parents  at Complexo da Mare's  Slum. A  very  troubled area in Rio . She  is 16 years old with a golden voice.

Hugo  Novaiz is a  multi-talented young artists, 19 years old, from the City of God; a Slum in Rio de Janeiro. He lives with his mom  and his talent is a God-Given-Gift that can be his bridge into a better life.

Taisa Soares lives at  Morro do Fuba, another troubled Slum area in Rio. Taisa is a singer, composer and guitar player.

Your help will give these young artists a  chance of a lifetime; to study for 3 weeks with professors from Cal Arts  (The disney founded college: www.calarts.edu)

The goal of Arts & Social Transformation is to give young artists from areas of risk in Rio de Janeiro a platform to develop their arts, opportunities to also grow culturally, and  create with them platforms so they can live off their  God-Given  Artistic Talents.

In 2007 my family and I began working in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in a mission of social transformation through arts, sports, ESL, and as well as through spiritual development based on Christ's examples, and His principles for living found in the Bible.

We  have  worked to support the various non-profit organizations working with the less fortunate, and some working directly  in the slums of Rio de Janeiro. One of our "bridges for arts" is with the Disney founded  University, Cal Arts - www.calarts.edu -  We have taken a group of 4 to 6 young artists from areas of risk to attend Cal Arts amazing program CAP; Community Arts Partnership - www.calarts.edu/CAP   once a year since 2009.  Thirty young artists have had the  privilege of experiencing  CAP... their lives were changed.

This GoFoundMe is to  raise  support  for  one  of the selected  young artists  to  be  part of  this once-in-a-lifetime  experience  in Los Angeles with Cal Arts.

Visit our site: www.artsandsocialtransformation.com   and be part of this movement that so far has impacted  positively the lives of 221 young artists from  areas of risk in Rio, as well as  has given  young people from middle upper class a change to  collaborate in the  Social Transformation through arts; and change too.

We need to raise  $3000.00  (three thousand dollars) per person to travel to US, have medical insurance, pay the american Visa, and cover the costs for housing, food, and transportation for 3 weeks.  We are working with the  family of the selected youth,  their  friends , and organizations, to raise the funds for them.

Cal Arts Program - www.calarts.edu/CAP -  lasts three weeks. From Monday through  Thursday  from 9 am till 5 pm the young people, led by  Cal Arts  Professors, will  engage in creating arts;  music, dance,  creative  writting,  film,  animation,  photography  and theater -  each in their areas -  and present at the end of the 3 weeks a show  of their creation  to their parents and friends.
