Unity Foundation is a non-profit organization that has been promoting peace, cooperation and unity throughout the world for 39 years. http://www.unityfoundation.org/
In 1998 fueled by a passion to do more to support the 100s of organizations Unity Foundation had already given focus to through its special events, the foundation launched the "Positive Spin" television program. http://www.positive-spin.tv/
The program showcases the important work of humanitarian and activists organizations around the world to a national audience in the United States. Positive Spin now airs nationally in the US on the country's two major satellite platforms DISH Network and DIRECT TV reaching 37 million households.
In 2009, to amplify Unity Foundation's work of promoting world peace and expanding the exposure of humanitarian and activists organizations to a worldwide audience, the foundation created the "Peace Day Global Broadcast" http://www.peacedayglobalbroadcast.org/
Celebrating the UN International Day of Peace. Now in its 6th year, the annual broadcast streams live from the United Nations and on more than 2,000 organizational websites and Facebook pages reaching millions around the world. The "Peace Day Global Broadcast" promotes the vitally important work of the United Nations, its humanitarian agencies, and organizations working for peace, the environment, human rights, and social and economic justice.
Our goal is to offer many other organizations the opportunity to showcase their vitally important work for humanity for Free on the "Peace Day Global Broadcast" and the "Positive Spin" television program.
Unity Foundation is in need of funding to further develop its two media vehicles - The "Peace Day" Global Broadcast celebrating the annual United Nations International Day of Peace on September 21st. The broadcast streams live from the UN and on more than 2,000 organizational websites around the world. http://www.peacedayglobalbroadcast.org/
The "Positive Spin" Television Program airing nationally in the United States. The "Positive Spin" television program promotes positive, innovative and solution oriented news from around the world. The program has been airing for the past 16 years on FreeSpeech TV on Dish Network and DIRECT TV. http://www.positive-spin.tv/
Peace Day Global Broadcast
The broadcasts, now in their six year, promote the vitally important work of the United Nations, its humanitarian agencies, and organizations around the world working for peace, the environment, human rights, and social and economic justice. In 2012, the broadcast streamed live events from 30 locations in 23 countries. The broadcast also featured personal messages of peace from many prominent people including: Michael Douglas, Dr. Jane Goodall, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Marianne Williamson, Edward James Olmos, Rosanne Barr, Ed Asner, Diane Ladd, Peter Coyote, Nobel Peace Prize Winner, Wangari Maathai, Olympian, Marilyn King and others.
Unity Foundation seeks to further develop the "Peace Day" Global Broadcast in the areas of purchasing technical equipment, upgrading the broadcast studios, further developing the cloud technology, promotion of the broadcast and outreach to additional organizations around the world to train them in the technology to live stream their special events for the UN International Day of Peace.
The purpose is to give major focus to the UN International Day of Peace though the utilization of the latest communications technology; and to bring together thousands of activist organizations around the world to promote their activities to the world community on the occasion of the UN International Day of Peace. http://www.peacedayglobalbroadcast.org/
Positive Spin
Unity Foundation also wants to develop "Positive Spin" by outreaching to activist organizations working for peace, the environment, human rights, and social and economic justice from around the world to offer them free airtime to promote their important work.We also have a need to upgrade equipment for the program, mailing costs, and poduction expenses.
The purpose is to offer these organizations, who are rarely covered in the mainstream media an opportunity to promote their important work to a national audience in the United States. http://www.positive-spin.tv/
