The Real Fight of the Century has started for Tom (Turtle) Halford.
On Tuesday May 11, 2015 Tom started his battle with Bile Duct and Pancreatic Cancer.
Tom came out swinging in first round of Chemo. The first round so far has gone well. The only side effect so far in round 1 has been Tom being very tired at times.
The only complaint Tom uttered was when they put is his port for the Chemo with a big needle. I volunteer to put in the next Port, still trying to get back at him for breaking my GI Joe with the kung fu grip! This got a chuckle out of Tom. Along with determination and all the fight he can muster, we are also hoping that we can use laughter to help him through this battle with cancer.
In Tom's corner are his family, friends and the Doctors at the Piper Cancer center from Mercy and Abbott Northwestern Hospitals.
