Hello! My name is Kayla Carpenter! I'm a 16 year old singer that has the opportunity of a lifetime. Out of 588 applicants, I was one of the 78 teens chosen to be apart of A Cappella Academy in California. I am extremely blessed to have this amazing oppurtunity! I was born into a musical family so you could say music is in my blood. I started to sing in church around the age of 3 or 4. My mom had me in the kids praise team. I found a love for it because it was the one thing I thought I was truly good at. I began to grow a passion for it and realize that singing is something I want to pursue in life at the age of 11 when I created a remake to the song "Price Tag" for a anti-bullying day at my middle school. Ever since then, singing has become my life. It's become my outlet to show how I really feel. I want my voice to speak to and for others when they don't have the words. Now that I got accepted into A Cappella Academy, I can really hone my talent and perfect it to the best of it's ability. However, like all things, there is a price.
The tuition for A Cappella Academy is 1995$ and that doesn't include transportation to and from California and other additional costs. Since this is my senior year and I will be going to college in the summer, I didn't want to put a huge financial burden on my family.
So I need your help.
The cost is high but I don't want it to stop me from attending the camp this summer. So please even if you donate 1 dollar, 5 dollars, 10 dollars, 100 dollars, or 1000 dollars, your donation is heavily appreciated!
