Hi! A group of friends and myself are climbing Mount Snowdon ( the highest mountain in England and Wales) on June 6th and have challenged all ourselves to raise £200 each to help support Hirsi Mahad Academy located in Dadaab refugee camp.
We are raising money for a school called Hirsi Mahad Academy for young Male and female orphans. The focus of this particular campaign is firstly on school meals; the children usually attend school in the mornings with empty stomachs who then walk back home in the heat for their only meal and then walk again to school. Exposure to such tough conditions forces children to stop attending all together which we want to avoid at all costs.
Our second focus is on transportation; children walk very far in extremely hot conditions to attend the school without adequate shoes. Transportation would make their journeys much easier and make their education experiences more enjoyable overall.
