Why fund us? Well, we wondered the same thing!? Isn't it selfish to ask - we are not sick or dying and choosing to have a child is just that, " a choice" so why should we ask for help when it is our choice to walk this road?
We received the simple answer today through the overwhelming number of messages of comfort from our loved ones/our village after we shared the weight of the next steps of this process with them - we heard it loud and clear, but especially after a logical and honest friend said to us, "why not?" "The world needs more great parents," he said, "and I send this message to you out of loving concern as a parent and a grandparent myself." His frank response is the reason we decided to at least ask for any support anyone is able and willing to extend.
YOU - our village - are important to us, we are acutely aware of the strong presence you have in our lives. We cannot and could not ever thank you enough!
**We are behind on updating the blog with the current plan for this cycle on 3/26/15, but the gist is that the type of drugs has changed and the number of visits to the clinic multiplied - bringing our costs just for this cycle alone reaching almost $4,000. This means that this will have to be our last cycle. This cost will clean us out of every reserve we have - even maxing out our credit cards. Lisa's mother is helping by giving us access to the little credit she can spare also. This is also maxing out our emotional reserves as well.
Again. Thank you. Thank you for every kind word, every smile, every vase of flowers, love note, and bottle of wine. It all matters.
