Turning Point Day Center for the Homeless is a safe haven for the 100’s of individuals in Atlantic City that are in desperate need of services that traditional outlets are not able to provide. These people tend to wander the streets of Atlantic City from sun up till sun down and beyond, with no direction and no hope. On August 1st 2017 we opened the doors of Turning Point Day Center to provide a safe, hopeful, and productive environment. A place where people can come for help, direction, and a renewed sense of hope. We provide a SAFE HAVEN from inclement weather, boredom, aimless wandering and loitering of Atlantic city streets and businesses.
At Turning Point Day Center we offer various services through partnerships with existing agencies and ministries that otherwise many of these individuals would not be aware of. We offer counseling, mental health services, VA services, Substance abuse counseling, and referral programs. We offer job readiness programs that provide instruction for resume writing and job search skills, and we provide proper clothing to wear on job interviews. All the things needed for these individuals to succeed.
At Turning Point we offer internet access, food, a laundry room, and showers.
Turning Point is completely crowdfunded at the present moment, as we await on responses from applications submitted for Federal and State Grants and Funding. The overwhelming response and welcoming of Turning Point Day Center from the community has been astonishing. We currently serve approximately 200 people per day. We want to CONTINUE to do so. Which is why we are asking for your help. Any donations that can be made whether its $1 or $1000 will be greatly welcomed and appreciated so that we can continue to provide these services to the much needed individuals of Atlantic City.
