Join the TTCS community in celebrating excellence in education. TTCS is committed to continue leading the state as an elementary school while maintaining its focus on academics and arts. TTCS is the only elementary charter school in Santa Fe. You can help support leading education in Santa Fe County through participation at the annual gala celebration April 25th at the Eldorado Hotel & Spa in Santa Fe, NM.
· The 2015 TTCS Gala funds raised will benefit the tutoring and enrichment programs of the school.
· Studies have shown that effective tutoring programs help at-risk students and students with learning disabilities who were falling behind earn average or better grades on quizzes and tests.
· The effects of tutoring programs for students that are struggling in school have lasting results throughout life.
In order for TTCS to continue to thrive now and maintain excellence well into the future, our charter school needs the full support of the greater Santa Fe community to build and uphold a very important educational asset for all children, namely an open enrollment, high quality, free, public school elementary school.
The award-winning Turquoise Trail Charter School
is the oldest charter school in New Mexico.
· Named New Mexico Coalition of Charter Schools “Charter School of the Year”-2014
· Independent decision making allows TTCS to continue to offer a full-time music teacher, band, art classes, clubs, a full-time nurse, a librarian, and a PE teacher.
· Most people do not know that charter schools receive less overall funding than regular district schools do. As an independent charter school, TTCS can make decisions about its staffing and programs that allow it to spend a higher percentage of funding directly on teachers and for students. (1)
In an era of limited funding for public schools in NM, TTCS is improving every day and aspires to be the very best public elementary school in New Mexico – thank you for your help.
