Help the Cadillac from True Romance

Donation protected
I will donate 10% of all funds raised to GIVELOVE.org , the personal charity of Patricia Arquette! (Patricia has no affiliation with this GoFundMe but she did re-tweet it!)

You can donate ANY AMOUNT!  It all helps!  $1, $5, $10!  For just pennies a day you can help get this Cadillac back on the road!  Won't you make that call today?

True Romance fans
, my name is Dan Storm. I am the co-creator of the True Romance Fest . A festival for all things Clarence and Alabama! Those who know me know that I'm one of the biggest fans in the world! I own many props from the movie including Alabama's sunglasses and Clarence and Alabama's wedding rings! Now I own the purple Cadillac!

THE DISCOVERY OF THE ORIGINAL CADILLAC
It's 2018 and we are heading into our 3rd True Romance Festival in April (which coincides with the 25th anniversary of the film) and I decided to make another attempt to find the original purple Cadillac from the film and get it to the fest. After some internet sleuthing and getting a response to an ad I placed online in 2014, I found out that someone in L.A. had the car! After 4 long years of searching and some negotiating with the current owner (who has had it for nearly 20 years), I am now the proud owner of the purple Cadillac from True Romance! Lucky dog! I know! I've matched up the front grill, some dings, scratches and I even matched the interior leopard print on this car to a photo of Patricia Arquette's sibling Alexis sitting in the car. Patricia originally owned this car (gifted to her by Tony Scott), but because it was bringing too much attention to her, she gave it to one of her friends. After several owners who didn't seem to care too much that it was from the movie, I finally have the car! This IS the car.

THE IDEA OF TRUE ROMANCE FEST
In 2013 I stayed at the Safari Inn in Burbank, CA for the first time ever for a mini-vacation on Memorial weekend, which was the year of the 20th Anniversary of the film. In the days leading up to the weekend, me and my buddy decided to turn this into an impromptu True Romance party and 30 of our friends showed up. Some even dressed up in Hawaiian shirts and leopard print skirts. As the night wore on we wondered why nobody did anything cool for the anniversary of this amazing film. After a few too many drinks we dreamed about putting on a bigger party for a bigger audience ourselves and screening the movie at the pool. We thought maybe we could get 100 people to show up! We thought it would be 'so cool' if we could get some cast members to come and maybe even get one of them to host!  Bronson Pinchot (Elliot) quickly came to mind but could we really pull all this off?  We made some calls, brainstormed some ideas and found Bronson on Facebook. He agreed to host, 300 people came and suddenly the dream was real and would change our lives forever. True Romance Fest was born!

LETS GET THE CADDY TO THE FEST!
Now that I purchased the car, I need your help to get it back to its former glory (and by glory, I mean the not-so-great condition it was in the movie, haha)! The car actually is in much rougher shape now than it was back then. It's not even currently running.  It needs a ton of work. Also some of the car was changed by previous owners and I want to get it back the way it was. The big thing is the color is not exactly right! The car had a really bad paint job in the movie that only got worse over time, so the previous owner had the car re-painted but unfortunately it wasn't a great match to the movie color. Luckily the original paint color is still underneath and there are some spots to make a good match. I'm already starting work on the car and I want to get this thing rolling with a realistic goal of getting it to True Romance Fest 3 on April 27-28 in Los Angeles. Less than 4 months away!

IN CLOSING
So, will you help me save this great piece of iconic Tarantino/Tony Scott film history and get it to the fest for the fans and future generations to enjoy?

Thank you SOOOOOO MUCH!

You're so cool,
Dan Storm

Original movie paint color underneath. Need to get it back the way it was! When the movie was in Detroit it seems more purple because of the way it was shot, "Clarence's purple Cadillac". In the L.A. scenes it looked more pink. That's the color you see under the chipped paint below. I feel it was always "Clarence's pink Cadillac" :) What do you think?

As seen in True Romance!
