Top of the World, Mt. Everest!

My name is George Kashouh and I'm someone with a huge passion for adventure and world travel. As long as I can remember, I've always wanted to climb Mt. Everest and see the world.
As soon as I turned 18 I used about two years of my savings to do a solo trip to Africa where I climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro. Since my first true adventure in 1999, I've made it to nearly half of the world's countries and have climbed five of the Seven Summits, all completely out of my own pocket.
In May 2016, I finally used my entire life savings for an attempt at Mt. Everest. Once I left Base Camp I felt completely strong and confident, but our summit day was met with diaster. Several people lost their lives, stormy weather had rolled into above 8,000 meters, and many other factors were not in our favor. I made the difficult decision to turn around only 300 feet from the top of the world. Because I felt strong the entire trip I'm completely confident I can climb this mountain under normal conditions.
I don't regret at all going last year, but with expeditions that typically running over $50,000 it would take a long time for me to be able to return with my own savings. For the first time in my life, I find myself asking for support so make this dream become climbing Mt. Everest in 2017 a reality!
