Hello friends! One thing you may or may not know about me is that I have a great desire to travel. I want to see the world, go on adventures and have many stories to tell for the rest of my life. Well my first real opportunity t do this has come.
My school Marylhurst University does a special kind of study abroad. It is a short 3 week trip in between our Summer and Fall terms. It works out great for students like me that have to work while going to school. Out of this trip I will earn 3 credits for a literature class and 3 credits for an art class. The trip this year will begin in London and we will then travel to Rome for the remainder. In London we will attend classes at University of London and stay on campus. In Rome we will attend classes at the Campo Di Fiori, and outdoor market place while staying in the Trastevere neighborhood. We will get to see a Shakepeare play in the Globe Theatre, travel to wine country in the Mediterranean, and visit many museums and sites.
Essentially, this trip allows me to learn, earn college credit and have a trip of a life time without jeopardixing my job or my degree. In the past I have not been able to atend the trip due to other obligations. Next year I will be most likely starting grad school at the end of September, possibly making the trip too stressful and spoiled. This is my year to go.I can just feel it. I believe in dreams and I believe in diving head first into them.
This is where you come in. Obviously this trip is going to cost a pretty penny. With help from my friends and family though this trip can and will indeed come together. No matter what you can donate I will appreciate it from the bottom of my heart.
You may be wondering what I myself will be contributing. I will be setting aside money as often as I can, I will possible plan a benefit concert with some friends to raise money, I plan to teach as many knitting and crocheting classes as I can, I have applied for some scholarships, I plan to personally write letters to friends and family for support, and if I can swing it I might get a 3rd job. All of these things will help, but not be enough. I am willing to do my part, and welcome your help.
Dreams, trips, and adventures are some of the most important things in life. We have to take them when they come. All donations will help cover the cost of the trip costs through my school, my passport, and ordering a new birth certificate(for passport).
I love this site because I can offer rewards when you give me generous donations. I don't have much to give but here are some rewards:
