Kristopher James Cuddeback

My name is Kevin Placentino and I am setting up this fund in honor of my brother Kristopher James Cuddeback.  This is his story - a story of love and tragedy.

Kris was born on June 27, 1991.   From the day he was born, he has blessed everything he touched.  Kris had a heart of gold, a smile that lit up every room he walked into, and a hug like no other.  A graduate of Pine Plains High and Columbia Greene Community College, his passion was to follow in his fathers footsteps (Thomas Cuddeback)  and become a police officer.  Hard work, dedication, and outstanding work ethics landed him his first police position with the Millerton Town Police.  From there, he has worked for the Rhinebeck PD and Coeymans PD.  Kris proposed to his highschool sweetheart, Jessica Farkas, whom he loved with all his heart, and they engaged to marry.  Three months ago, Kris was hired with the Dutchess County Sheriffs department.  This was his dream job, and we were all so proud of him  - for everything he has accomplished and everything he stood for.  Soon after employement, Kris and Jessica bought their first house and started to renovate it.  Kris worked the midnight shift, but he was determined to completely renovate his new house.  And he did just that - after working the night shift, he would come home and feverishly work on his house, sleep a couple hours, then continue this cycle day in and day out.  He wanted to provide a home for his future family.  He was living the American Dream and everything was aligning, everything was perfect - until that fateful day when tragedy struck unexpectedly.

On April 28, 2015, Kris and his brother Kyle Cuddeback went for an afternoon motorcylce ride together - two loving brothers enjoying life.  Kris lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a fence.  He was flown to Albany Medical Center.   Kris suffered irreversible major head trauma and several broken bones.  He has been on life support since Tuesday, and on May 3 we recieved the dreadful news that Kris will never awake from his sleep.  In a split second, Kris was taken away from us.  The world lost a great man that day - a son, a brother, a fiance, a friend.

I need your help.  Building this house was very important to Kris, the house that he had spent countless hours and all his free time feverishly renovating.  His goal was to build a future home and provide for his future family.  Help me finish what Kris could not based on these tragic circumstances.   Lets build these walls together and stand united - we have strength in numbers.

Help me raise "the roof", help me raise Kris' roof.  Kris spent his life helping others and risking his life on a daily basis for the betterment of society.   Now, its time we give back.
