Help bring music to Marshfield!

Friends, musicians, and music lovers:

Over the past decade the Vox Concert Series has worked to create a space where people within the community can experience live music, not just hear it. The original idea behind the concert series? Create a room within the community that could transform to host rock bands, blues, bluegrass, jazz, singer/songwriters, classical music, kids shows and even comedy acts!

-Caleb Hawley from Season 10 of American Idol performing at Vox!

Why do we host Vox concert events in Marshfield? Brian Sauer (the manager of the concert series) grew up in Marshfield and returned to live here after stints in Minnesota and Milwaukee. A lot of his friends and peers have families; his aim is to provide a place in the community where they could experience culture more typical of a larger city without having to take the time, risk the weather, or incur the travel expense (gas, food, hotel, etc.) of going to a larger metropolitan area. Not to mention the challenge of making arrangements for the kids when taking those trips.

-Another full house for our great performers!

The mission of the Vox Concert Series is to provide access to quality, affordable entertainment in Central Wisconsin, with tickets ranging from free to $35 (depending on the nature of the event and caliber of the acts featured).

-The amazing Tony Lucca from Season 2 of The Voice showing us how it's done!

Since our first event in 2005, Vox has hosted more than 200 events within the community, including partnerships with charity fundraisers, currently averaging 35+ events per year. We feature high quality, recognizable acts such as Sam Llanas (formerly of the BoDeans), Tony Lucca (finalist on NBC's The Voice), Matt White (featured performer on The Bachelorette), and Tyler Hilton (musician and movie/television actor: Walk the Line, One Tree Hill) to name a few. In addition to more famous names, we aspire to provide local musicians, very talented emerging musicians from Chicago, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, New York, Nashville, Austin, Los Angeles, and musicians from various other countries (New Zealand, Canada, England, Finland) a welcoming stage in Central Wisconsin.

We work very hard to make Vox an exceptional place to experience a concert "“ with intimate performances, crystal-clear sound, and without a bad seat in the room. Vox has been transforming Wildwood Station Pavilion into our 250-seat capacity listening room since 2008, but you've never seen it quite like this. Since this crowd-source funding campaign started over 8 months ago, Vox have been blessed by the generous nature of our concert-goers and event sponsors that have led to a good number of the stated goals of our original campaign being completed. With the help of contributors, in 2014, Vox concert events held at Wildwood Station include a reserved seating option, offering an up-front view of the stage and a table to set your drink. General admission seating will also be available. We want every seat to be great, and to meet that goal we have increased our stage lighting and added a raised stage! As always, concert-goers are welcome (and encouraged) to bring their own beverages in personal-size coolers.

GoFundMe campaign contribution have allowed to the following campaign goals being completed or get a healthy start:

-Upgrade to a digital sound board that also provides for the ability to professional grade recording equipment (completed).

-Purchase of a professional grade camera (completed).

-Significantly enhance our stage & venue lighting to improve overall concert experience and venue atmosphere (completed).

-The addition of a raised staging to improve visibility of performers, improve overall concert experience, and venue atmosphere (completed).

-New cabaret style tables (completed). offering an up-front view of the stage and a table to set your drink. offering an up-front view of the stage and a table to set your drink. offering an up-front view of the stage and a table to set your drink.

-The creation of a fund for contributions toward the purchase of a stand along venue for Vox Concert Series (in progress).

While we have made some significant strides toward achieving a number of our goals, there is still much to be done toward the goal of our own venue. We have identified a new need to add to short term goal list (a more urgent need of sorts):

-A newer, bigger trailer

Help us bring talented entertainment to Central Wisconsin; consider a contribution toward reaching our goals. Sponsorship levels with incentives have been created to reward donors at specific levels. We have updated some of our options for contribution options to reflect changes made to concert events for 2014! Regardless of the size, every contribution helps this idea to be realized.

Respectfully submitted,

Brian Sauer
