The Sano Cause

Greetings from the Sano Family.

We, like you, or perhaps, like someone you know, are a loving family of four. Always active, Nick worked in educational theater: teaching, directing and acting for children all over the tri-state area and in Scotland. His boundless energy forever had him hauling heavy lighting equipment and building sets. Nick was a Phanstormer with the Philadelphia Phillies and even had his own radio show! Perhaps you heard him on 100.1 WJRZ, as a DJ or as the Host of "At the Movies" at Z889, the Pulse of South Jersey. Merideth was a Phanstormer with Nick and is still one today, in addition to working full time as an IFTA/IRP Administrator for a Fleet Management Company in Mount Laurel, NJ. Our first date was on Valentine's Day 15 years ago. We got married on June 6, 2009 and settled down to build a family. We have two beautiful little girls: Miranda (Andi), our first born, who's almost 3 1/2 and our baby Nicolette (Nicki), who just turned 2!

In 1998, Nick was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Through the years, it was challenging, but manageable, worse when the weather was bad, but in true Sano style, we made it work. Then in the spring of last year, following the sudden death of his closest friend, Nick's condition severely worsened. He was hospitalized repeatedly and is now confined to a chair, and though his mind is still sharp and his sense of humor is intact, he speaks with great difficulty. Merideth quickly became the sole provider for our family of four. With mounting hospital bills, medical costs, and physical therapy, we've burned through whatever savings we had, and it's become progressively challenging to just make ends meet on Merideth's income alone. It's only mid-January and we're already seeing the 2015 medical costs piling up.

It's become increasingly difficult for us to do this on our own. We are so grateful for every moment we get to spend together with our beautiful girls. It breaks our hearts to be in such dire straits especially as we still strive to be good parents and give our girls the wonderful childhood they so richly deserve. So we are putting our pride down and asking for help. We humbly thank you from the bottom of our hearts for donating so generously to "the Sano Cause." Every dollar is vital! Thank you for your help.
