Love & Support for Terri & Todd

Donation protected
I write on behalf of Terri ‘Sat Beant’ Bishop, her husband Todd Lawley and their two children Arianna and Angus.

Those of us who have been touched by Terri know her as a gentle truth seeker who is dedicated to her family, as an active community member who can always be called on in service and support, as an intuitive healer who knows when to listen and when to respond, and as a generous being who wouldn’t hesitate to give the shirt off her back if she thought you were in need.

When Todd was diagnosed with a rare form of Leukemia last year (MDS, Myeloodysplastic Syndrome), they felt it would be best for Terri and the children relocate to Duncan, to be closer to Todd’s mother who was able to be a support to the family while Todd received full-time treatment at Vancouver General Hospital.  Todd has now been at VGH for the past 8 months, has undergone chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant, and will remain there for the time being, due to a transplant complication resulting in GVHD (graft-versus-host-desease).

When they lived in East Vancouver, Terri and Todd worked in the Vancouver Film Industry in the arts department as set decorators producing beautiful work. Their children, Arianna and Angus, attended the Vancouver Waldorf School, and are still fondly held by those families, teachers and friends. With having to move to Duncan after Todd's diagnosis, they are now enroled at the Sunrise Waldorf School.

Compounding this already difficult situation, Terri has recently discovered that she has developed breast cancer. After an initial surgery, and with limited treatment options in Duncan, over the next 14 months Terri must travel to Victoria to receive chemotherapy, radiation, and a possible second surgery.

While eternally grateful to Todd’s mother for her generous support in caring for their children, Terri is in need of greater aide over the coming year and months. She requires transportation between Duncan and Victoria, assistance in her home with meals and cleaning, and while neither she nor Todd are able to be working, they need the obvious support of day to day financial assistance.

Terri’s friends are actively looking for creative ways to support this dear family in their time of crisis and need, and have plans to host several house concerts throughout the year to supplement funds raised here.

Please, if you feel called, donate what you can to support Terri, Todd, Arianna, and Angus. No amount is too big or too small. And if you are in the Duncan area, please consider signing up to help with meals, find the link here: terri-meal-tree.youcanbook.me
