Team Turnip - 250 miles for Girls on the Run!
Donation protected
In February I committed to running 250 miles between February 1st and August 3rd. This is roughly the distance from Medifast HQ in Baltimore to the Hilton in NYC where I will be attending the BlogHer conference.
183 days, 4,394 hours, 263,673 minutes
That's how many days I had to run 250 miles.
And I'm lazy. So....that's a lot of miles for me.
I am doing this as a personal challenge. But additionally this is a tribute and thank you to those that have supported my efforts to lose 100lbs in the past 14 months.
Its been a long year full of struggles that have built muscle in my body, mind and heart. Because I am so grateful I want to pay it forward. In addition to reaching a personal running goal of 250 miles, I plan to donate money to Girls on the Run and hope that I can inspire you to make a pledge as well.
Girls on the Run® is a life-changing, experiential learning programs for girls age eight to thirteen years old. The programs combine training for a 3.1 mile running event with self-esteem enhancing, uplifting workouts. The goals of the programs are to encourage positive emotional, social, mental, spiritual and physical development.Your support and the Medifast program have helped me to become who I am and I'd like to help another generation of girls and women do the same. It's my hope that you will join me in raising funds to donate to Girls on the Run as I run the last 66 miles to meet my goal.
See you in NYC!
*Please note that 100% of the proceeds of this collection will be donated to the national chapter of Girls on the Run (after fees taken out by GoFundMe.com). These donations will in no way be used to fund my trip to BlogHer or any other events or charities.
Incentive packages are offered but donations of any size are welcome. Please note that ads will run for two (2) months from date of placement on my blog.
