On April 20, 2015, Desmina was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma.
The battle against neuroblastoma is a long and tough one, especially for adolescents. But Desmina is up for the fight. The typical full treatment for neuroblastoma commonly takes a minimum of 8 months consists of chemotherapy, surgery to remove the tumor(s), radiation, and stem cell transplants as well as many CT scans, MRIs, and other radiological work.
Desmina’s mother will be going on FMLA during a lot of the treatment, which is unpaid time off. This is so that she will be able to be with Desmina and provide care to her in and out of the hospital.
Any assistance you wish to offer is greatly appreciated and will be used to cover medical bills and other bills related to the time off required to care for Desmina.
