Sabrina's Kidney Campaign

Spende geschützt
Sabrina is a 26 year old girl who in the last 3 years
has been through a lot but here is her story...

Sabrina went to the Doctors in January 2015 to push for tests, due to feeling really unwell, the doctors screen then flagged up that Sabrina's kidney function was critical, this was all very confusing as earlier in December Sabrina had been told that everything was fine.
Sabrina was told to go straight to the Hospital on the renal ward to undergo tests.

It was told to Sabrina and her family that Sabrina had to stay in hospital to have a Kidney Biopsy to see how severe they were. Unfortunately Sabrina's blood pressure was through the roof so they had to wait a few days before they could do the Kidney Biopsy. Sabrina's blood pressure remained high even on blood pressure pills so she was later discharged until her blood pressure was at a safe stage where the Kidney Biopsy could take place.

Meanwhile Sabrina had found out that her Cervical screen testing had come back with pre-cancerous cells so had to have a Colposcopy treatment to get rid of them.

Sabrina had constant contact with her Doctors, emailing her blood pressure results over to them, when the Doctors saw a low enough reading she was called back in to have a Kidney Biopsy, which luckily was only a day procedure.

A week later and Sabrina became very unwell, being sick, no energy and high temperature. The Doctor was called to the family home, where Sabrina was then rushed into hospital with what was thought to have been a infection from the earlier Colposcopy.
Whilst in hospital for Gyne treatment Sabrina was also under her Renal Doctors who later told her that the first Kidney Biopsy was insufficient and another one would have to take place.

A day later a second Kidney Biopsy was carried out.
Sabrina was discharged a day later with blood pressure pills and antibiotics.
The results came in February 2015.
Sabrina was diagnosed with Stage 4 Glomerulonephritis, IgA Nephropathy. She was told that her kidneys would not last her and they were only functioning at 16% and they continued to be stable until on 19th May, Sabrina recieved some devestating news that her kidney function had plummeted from 16% to 5%. Both times Sabrina and her family have been knocked back, and they were left devastated by the results. Sabrina will have to have a Kidney transplant in the next year or less and will have to have around 4 Kidney transplants in her life time.

Sabrina now is looking into emergency dialysis.

Sabrina and her family need your helo. Travelling is a stretch on money as Sabrina no longer has a job. She rarely gets out of the house because she has Chronic Fatigue and Sickness.
As dialysis is on the cards, and its easier for Sabrina to do this at home, a room in her house will have to be converted into a Dialysis room, which unfortuantely doesn't come cheap.
Everything’s a big struggle for Sabrina.
