Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, and we have...

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, and we have so much to be thankful for this year. Especially all the love, support and generosity all of you have shown Andrew, I and our family, and we thank each and everyone of you from the bottom of our hearts.
Andrew & i leave again on Sunday afternoon for his next surgery - very nervous about it, but i know he will once again pull thru - he is a fighter and a champ. He will one day be standing in the hall of fame, and the world will know his name.
Thank you again for all your love, support, and generosity this past year. God bless you all

So, Andrew will be returning to...

So, Andrew will be returning to Cinn for additional open heart chest reconstruction on 11/27. There is a 50% chance this will work. Hoping and praying Andrew will come thru this like a champ and not need any additional surgery after this. Still the possibility of needing a permanent airway stent -- not good since he likes to cough them out.

Well, tomorrow we will find out...

Well, tomorrow we will find out if Andrew now needs a stent to hold the new airway open while it heals. Cannot wait to get home and be with our family again. so thankful to everyone who has helped us make this trip and for all the prayers and the amazing people in our lives who have shown how much they care for our Andrew.

My son Andrew was born with NO cartiledge in a 9mm portion of his airway to the left lung - that has caused my son severe breathing problems.  Andrew is 6yrs old and on 8/7/12  underwent major OPEN HEART CHEST RECONSTRUCTION surgery in Cincinatti. Although Andrew did AMAZING post-op, he is now having complications with keeping the airway open.  We spent a month in Cinn, and Andrew required a titanium stent to be placed to keep the airway from collapsing.  We need to return in 3wks to have the stent removed & then relooked out to see if he requires another stent,  and then again for follow-up visits, and the insurance company will not pay for our travel and lodging.  We do not have the money and Andrew needs this follow-up work, because his airway can COLLAPSE and he will no longer be able to breathe.    Whatever you can donate will be greatly appreciated.
