My name is Lily, my sister Amy and mum Kay and I have decided to try and do something to help the most amazing little boy we know...
We've set up this GoFundMe page to try and help support my brother Ross, his wife Polly and their amazing little boy - 7 month old Hugo with their struggle through Hugo's liver disease.
On September 29th 2014 their world became complete when Polly gave birth to my wonderful little nephew Hugo. And in November 2014, that world fell apart when they found out he had Biliary Atresia, a rare liver disease. In February 2015 they found out that Hugo wasn't going to get any better on his own and would need a liver transplant to survive. Our family were in shock. We all rallied together to do everything we could to try and make this time easier for them all... recently some of us have even begun the process of hopefully finding a match within our family so we can give Hugo a part of one of our Livers. But their struggle won't end there... Unfortunately as Hugo will be so poorly after the operation Polly won't be able to go back to work when her maternity leave ends, this means they literally won't be able to support themselves and Hugo due to the drop in income.
Amy, Kay and I have been chatting about what we can do to raise some money for them and we realised that between us we have a lot of friends! If all of you lovely lot (and maybe even your friends and family too!) could possibly find even £1 to donate to the family so they can use this to pay for bills and hospital trips while Hugo gets better and until Polly can go back to work then it would make a huge difference!
We cannot thank you lovely people enough for all of the kind words we have all received and I know that Ross and Polly are staying strong because of all of the support they have been given from everyone. Many people have asked how they can help out and we think that this could be the perfect way!
