Hi my name is Shannon Chisholm. I am a wife of almost 18 years and have two wonderful boys, Brandon 17 and Jakob 12. On July 17, 2011 my life forever changed. I was out road cycling and I was hit by a car from behind leaving me an incomplete paraplegic.
On March 28th I was crowned Ms. Wheelchair NC 2015. The resposnsibilities of Ms. Wheelchair NC include being a disability advocate in the ongoing effort to eliminate stereotypical and physical barriers that prevent persons with disabilities from assuming their rightful place in soceity. It is my responsibility to communicate the needs and accomplishments of the disabilicommunity to the general public, business community, and the government.
During the week of July 27th - August 2nd, 2015 I will be traveling to Des Moines, Iowa to compete in the 2016 Ms. Wheelchair America Pageant for the Ms. Wheelchair America title. I am raising money to attend nationals and funds to help me advocate and promote my platform during my year.
