Little Hander Christian

Hander Christian was born on September 6th, 2018.  Less than 2 days after he was born, it was discovered he had a blockage in his intestine that was found to be Hirschsprung Disease.  After the pull-through surgery to repair his colon, it seemed that his odds of having a smooth recovery and a normal working colon were very good.  But Hander continued to have trouble gaining weight along with signs of severe reflux, so another surgery was required on his colon.  During that surgery there was a mass discovered on Hander's bladder.  The mass, completely unrelated to Hirschsprungs, is a tumor causing fluid backup into his kidney with the prognosis at this time of cancer.  There will be more testing and a biopsy on Wednesday 11/14 to know exactly what the next steps will be but likely they will begin with chemotherapy.  

Hander is just over 2 months old and has battled so much already.  His parents, Kasy and Chance, are giving every ounce of energy and every moment to thanking God for the gift they have received in Hander and that He gives Hander strength to fight through the challenges ahead. 

More than anything we ask for prayers for little Hander.
