The children of Michelle Lujan and Jonathan Gavzer

Dear friends, family and loving community,
After a valiant effort fighting cancer, Michelle Lujan died peacefully surrounded by her family last Tuesday (5/14/19). Throughout her battle, she was ever present for her children, Samuel and Sunya, and kept them focused on what was ahead. She moved towards death with honesty, integrity, and grace; and the children were amazing in their courage and presence in each step. A celebration of life for Michelle will be announced as details are worked out.
Now, the children are living with their father Jonathan, full-time. As he tries to sort out how to make this new life work, many of us have offered to be of service. At this point, what is clear, is that Jonathan is on a very limited work schedule and could use some financial assistance to get through the next few months while he is helping the kids embark on this journey through the grieving process.
Here’s our call to action: we’d love to raise $17,500 to support this family!
Asking for and receiving money can be vulnerable. As Michelle was held in community over the past 2 years, many have generously offered incredible gifts of time and resources. Jonathan wishes not to create a sense of obligation knowing that there are many with big needs in this time. Yet, these are the times to hold hands together- through community- to collectively and powerfully support our beloved friends, children and each other. Jonathan, Samuel, Sunya (and all of us who love them) would be incredibly grateful for your offerings and support.

PS. For those who want to visit, you are welcome! It can be hard for Jonathan to think in advance of what he might need. During a visit, a way to help may become clear. In addition, he is looking to see more clients in/near Point Reyes Station. Referring local clients will also be a great financial assistance.
