Support for Shanell Westerheide

Shanell Westerheide is a 36 year old mother of three small children, and on the evening of Thursday, August 13th, she was diagnosed with highly aggressive stage IV (metastatic) breast cancer.  Now that the enemy has been named and treatment plans are in place, Shanell and her incredible husband Bunkie are arming themselves with strength for the battle that lies before them and preparing for what will most likely be a long and challenging journey to healing.


This fundraiser has been developed to assist the Westerheide family with the financial burdens associated with defeating Shanell's cancer.  These expenses may include costs for services (such as childcare for their 3 beautiful children and home maintenance), travel expenses to receive the best possible care, as well as medical deductibles, co-pays, and treatments not covered by insurance.  Our mission is to enable Bunkie and Shanell to focus 100% of their energy on healing and quality time with their loved ones.


Shanell and Bunkie Westerheide are kind, generous people, who would never turn away from the opportunity to help someone who was struggling or required assistance. It is simply our hope to repay that love back to them during this challenging time.  As specific needs are communicated by the family, we will share them through this page.  There will be opportunities to sponsor specific requests, as well as the ongoing ability to contribute an amount that feels most comfortable to you.


Shanell is a fighter, and she is determined to do whatever it takes to remain here with us for as long as possible.  Her spirit is focused and her faith is strong.  Please join us as we shelter the Westerheide family in our prayers and shower them with messages of support and encouragement.
