My name is Cassian Humphreys. I am a professional Tree Doctor and Project Director. 5 years ago I woke to my humanity, gave up an unsustainable life and chose to use my knowledge as a practical environmentalist to focus on sustainability. I created Naturaculture Ltd, an Australian Not-for-Profit Vegetation Management Company and set about establishing a range of environmentally beneficial projects.
To achieve sustainability being environmentalists is not enough we must also be humanitarians.
With 30 years in tree/plant-culture I have been fortunate in that I have had a career that has cultured my natural intelligence. Few professions in the World can do that for us, as most only yield archaic academic intelligence. Drawing on this as a tree doctor I can work miracles through my minds application, backed by cultural practice. I give sick trees an extra 300 years of life whilst massively banking their resources. I storm proof trees to survive cyclones. I help protect crops, property and people from cyclone damage.
Vanuatu is an “Avatar” land, with an “Avatar” people, a people who are still alive with their connection to nature. The islands with volcanic nutrient dense soils and capacity to yield great nutrient dense super-crops is an inspiration.
Local foods yield exceptional nutrient levels in plants that are barely known to science. Vanuatu is a third world country with an unsustainable economy and a very limited ability to contribute to the global market, yet offers the world a significant opportunity to be sustainable and yield super crops to the world. The way the civilized nations are going countries like Vanuatu are likely to be feeding the world of the future, so this is a win-win scenario.
‘Empower the people - empower the environment - achieve sustainability’
With you helping me achieve my goal with Crowd Funding I will voluntarily carry out needed research, on the Ni-Van “Avatar” plants, as a means to gather essential foundation data prior to funding which is expected before the 2017-year end. As well as further develop community relations to engage with the Ni-Van to better know who and what (natural resources) we are to work with to rapidly start our main project.
Contracted to a Vanuatu Company through Regain Hope - an Australian Not-for-Profit Charity, I have committed with a team of arborists to establish a world best sustainable land management practice, of organic plant production systems, for the native (Ni-Van) community. Process cyclone downed and weed vegetation, using a state of the art super composting system, to feed soil microbiology and establish super food and super-medicinal crops. Concurrently training the local Ni-Van in programs to culturally sustain these practices and their sacred trees, whilst assisting them to sell their produce, and super crops in the local and international market for global health care. In a bid to enable national economic empowerment for the Vanuatu people.
Only an Avatar people makes their ancient trees sacred. Only an Avatar people are capable of nationally achieving sustainability. Part of my pledge to you in receipt of your assistance is to share with you (through our Naturaculture AUS Face Book Page) our progress, as well as our recipe for sustainability.
For a nation to achieve sustainability it needs to be a new nation, a nation that has yet to be corrupted purely by economics and academia. A nation that can build its economy through sustainably managing and sharing its resources, whilst earning from the wealthy nations.
Most projects that are aimed at the 3rd world are focused on feeding people in the short term without a plan to empowering the people to be sustainable. Our project is committed to assisting a nation to feed itself in the long term, by replicating the proven recipe for optimal organic crops production, and then in turn to help the international community by providing super-foods and super-medicines.
Because sustainability is about saving money, recycling nature’s resources to create products of natural potency - it is the perfect model for a 3rd World country to embrace. Whereas the civilized cultures are unable to be sustainable (because of their need to make money to support non-sustainability) at this time - they can help the 3rd World to achieve that through funding.
Considering nature intelligence all we need is an understanding of the nutrient cycles (the web of life) coupled with a developed sense of godliness within all life. This is a tough ask of the academically intelligent, but is true to those of us with natural intelligence.
1. Natural intelligence as with nature regulates itself through the collective mind to be sustainable.
2. The collective mind relates to what many of us call God or source intelligence. This is best called natural Intelligence, an intelligence, that regardless of human belief permeates and links all life including the human mind.
3. Sustainability is a dream many of us aspire to yet feel unable to have, especially in a world where economy is the prerogative. The fact is that civilization is unwittingly killing our natural intelligence, to replace that with a mind-set akin to an automaton that can only replicate what its told. Concerning humanity, the fact that the greater multitude supports only a small number economically, clearly shows a divorce from natural intelligence.
Recognised by the naturally intelligent - sustainability is the endurance of systems and processes be they biological, economic or relating to security.
· Biology: the sustenance of natural systems & processes,
· Economics: the sustenance of economic production
· Security: the on-going freedom to be sustainable through ones will and ability.
Naturally our environment will test these traits and naturally the best of us adapt.
Revenue I intend to raise to enable voluntary research - $12,971.00
Where funds will be spent – Staying in Efate (25 days) & Tanna (32 days) Islands Tafea Province for 57 Days.
4*4 (Suzuki Jimny – cheapest available) Car Hire – $6,000.00 for 55 days for both islands
Flight - Flight center - $662.00
Accommodation - Air B&B allowing for $35.50 per night - *57 = $2,023.50
Expenses for living away = $400 per week % 7 = $57.50 per day *57 = $3,277.50. This figure is based on my expenses when l was living away whilst voluntarily working in Vanuatu for our initial stakeholder meetings 21/4/17 to the 9/5/17.

Note - for the record if I was to make this commitment of research support professionally (based on Australian dollars) cost inclusive working 49 out of 57 days I would be charging out at - $21,285.00. I choose to work voluntarily out of commitment to the Vanuatu peoples, the Vanuatu Government, Regain Hope, and the investors who choose to invest in a sustainable venture with global benefit out-comes. For me having the opportunity to do so is a privilege and an honour. With funding support I will be keeping a close tally on my expenses these will be shared via our FB page, complete transparency and accountability is part of our code.
Plan for a two-stage Naturaculture research project in support of the main project.
1st Stage – 1/7 to 24/7 – 24 days based at Port Villa
· Fly to Port Vila, Efate Island to volunteer at the request of the Vanuatu Government, in support of our greater project, a beautification project in preparation for the December Pacific Mini Games. This involves one week for assessment of their budget, to carry out assessment of the proposed sites, research appropriate local vegetation, source availability of nursery stock, develop a management plan to ensure high quality cultural conditions for the planting, and appoint a crew to carry out works.
· One week to meet local Efate Chieftain’s and Medicine men as a means to comprise a list of the main Ni-Van names of native food & medicinal plants. My task is to build a local network to enable me to learn of the documented history of the most important tribal plants. Field trips to compile a list of the documented and undocumented plants with a view to scientifically ascertain their nutritional properties and a visit to the Herbarium as well as plant nurseries to gather my foundation data and data on the main Efate weeds.
· One week in Efate’s wilderness area to access remnant ecosystems (principally old growth trees and associate fungi), though data capture on this will be an ongoing process.
· I am to then visit one of the proposed Efate project sites to assess the site’s parameters, vegetation & soils to gauge site potential as well as to plan for the main project.
2nd Stage – 24/7 to – 25/8 on Tanna
· Fly to Tanna and assess the proposed site parameters, vegetation & soils to gauge site potential as well as to plan for the project.
· Meeting the local Chieftains, medicine men, exploring the wilderness areas and local townships as a means to build a support network. Both stages involve adopting research initiatives based on opportunistic meetings and guidance from the Vanuatu Government.
We all know that our global industries are killing the life on our planet yet like sheep we comply. Clearly the worlds civilized cultures can only change with an all-encompassing consciousness shift, based on current global governance that’s something that appears very unlikely to happen unless we help them.
