Sunflower Alliance

The Sunflower Alliance  is an activist association working hard for climate justice and a fossil-free Bay Area. Along with our allies, we tackle refinery expansions, crude by rail, and coal by rail. We present public forums, knock on doors, testify at regulatory agencies, and put our bodies on the line when direct action is called for. In our ongoing efforts to prevent toxic fossil-fuel emission impacts on frontline communities, we link the fight for environmental justice here at home to the global struggle for climate justice.

We are volunteers, self-funded, and work on a lean budget. Donations enable us to print educational material, design posters, produce signs and artwork for demonstrations, and website and database development.  Take a look at our beautiful website , an important resource for Bay Area climate activism.

We are very pleased that the road to Paris led to an international agreement. Now it’s time for a superhighway of implementation! Much of that work will be done at the local and regional levels, by activists such as ourselves and our allies.
