Barb's Battle Against Alzheimer's

Barbara Burke-Lewis is the most generous, kind hearted, and loving woman that you will ever meet. To this day you will never catch her with out a smile. She is a lover of horses, a wife, a mother, a sister, a daughter, and an over all awesome woman. To know her, is to love her.
In the spring of 2009 at the age of 58 Barbara was diagnosed with Early On Set Alzheimer's Disease (a disorder of the brain resulting in a progressive decline in intellectual and physical abilities). She was determined to fight. She was determined to win. Her husband Dan Lewis has been by her side also fighting the battle against this disease every step of the way. From clinic to clinic, doctor to doctor, neurologist to neurologist, he has been her biggest advocate through out this process. Due to the degenerative nature of this awful disease my mother has slowly lost many of her day to day abilities. She can no longer read, write, drive, get dressed, or even feed herself on her own anymore. By 2013 she had regressed so much that Dan was forced to make a difficult decision. He either had to quit his job to take care of my mother full time or continue to work and have her put in a full time care facility. He chose to leave his full time paying job to take care of her.
This fund has been created to help alleviate some of the financial burden of medical expenses, doctor's visits, medicine, and day to day living expenses. All funds raised will go directly to Barb and Dan.
