IUI - Our Best Chance

UPDATE: We have been fortuniate enough to get enough money for the donor sperm! We are still trying to raise enough for the procedure, this will cost $500 for each round, hopefully we only will need one!! Thank you everyone who continues to support us through our journey. Our Journey so far…
Don and I have been trying to have a baby for over 3 years now. After trying for a year on our own, we seeked the help of an OBGYN. She was wonderful. Don and I were sent for tests and told to keep trying. The results came in and it wasn’t great. Not terrible but not great. I have Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) and Don’s semen analysis came back as low motility and mobility. I was put on medication to help me ovulate and Don started taking vitamins to get his little men moving. We continued for almost a year like this with no results. My cycles where pretty much non-existent and had to take medication to bring on my period. Our OBGYN referred us to Aurora Reproductive Centre in Saskatoon and we were so excited..
Our Plan was…
Intrauterine insemination (IUI). We tried it twice using Don’s sperm without success. We decided to use donor sperm and we ordered 2 vials. I seen that little pink line and OMG we couldn’t believe it! Right away we had blood work done and yes it was positive but a low number. Another blood test confirmed it, but sadly a few days later I miscarried. We were devastated! We were devastated but now determined! We had never seen a little pink line before, but now we knew that it was possible. On the next cycle we were so optimistic but in the end it was not successful.
Our Plan now…
To hold a baby in our arms. We want this so bad it is all we can think about. We know our issues and we know that IUI with donor sperm can work. We want to change the medications so we have our best chance. We want to order 4 vials of donor sperm as this will be our last chance.
Our Goal…
Anyone going through this knows, the cost is high. The medications, the procedures, the donor sperm, the travel, the emotions and stress. Although we tried to save it seems to never work out. My benefits cover some of the medications, but with our new plan they are more expensive. All we want is a fighting chance to carry, deliver and hold our baby. Go Fund Me was suggested to us and after a long debate we are swallowing our pride and asking you for help to give us our best chance.
Thank you so much for your support and know that if successful that baby will be so loved and so cared for. My heart aches just thinking about it.
