Stand Up to Ebola Mobile App

My name is Moses Achi Juana Jr. and I am a native of Sierra Leone living in the US, and I am deeply affected by the Ebola Crisis in Western Africa. Many of my family, of whom some are health professionals, and friends are facing this epidemic first hand as it spreads throughout the continent, and I believe I have a solution that will help them, and countless others survive the virus.

Together with the help of Canadian app developers, NumaWorks, we have drawn up the plans to create interactive apps for both Android and iOS that people can download for free and get a preliminary virus screening that follows World Health Organizations three basic requirements which must be met to prevent the spread of Ebola: Case Management, Surveillance and Contact Tracing. The app will gather basic user information including GPS location, contact information, likelihood of infection and will store the information in a secure database where health professionals can monitor and schedule home pickup of people with high risk of infection.

We need funds to develop these apps, and for me to personally travel to Sierra Leone and Liberia to implement this life-saving tool into their local healthcare system. I have contacts within the African Union and will discuss larger scale options with them, however the strategy is to start from the ground up, with the people dealing with this crisis daily. The cost to develop the Android and iPhone apps will be $30,000. The website to inform all about the apps and the necessary database will cost another $10,000. The cost for me to travel to West Africa will be $5000 for air travel as well as all ground transportation to affected areas in Sierra Leone, and Liberia.
