S MN Feral Cat Sanctuary

Donation protected
The Minnesota Spay/Neuter Project (MSNP) is looking for partners to build Cat Sanctuaries on their farms.  Cat sanctuaries provide a safe haven for about 50 cats and also protects wildlife in the area.

Several years ago we brought 12 cats to MN SNAP (MN Spay Neuter Assistance Program) to be spayed or neutered for our farm.  Most of the cats were fairly tame, but some were pretty wild.  Of the 12, only 6 are still on the farm. The rest have run away or have met untimely deaths.  Every year, we have 3-4 new strays show up, and several that just disappear.  Some of the strays are spayed or neutered, many are not, and some are even declawed.  However, many of these strays are only around a year or two and then they’re gone again.

The idea of a cat sanctuary to keep the cats all safe and secure was shared by MSNP.  We still need some cats around our farm to keep the rodent population down, but we often see feral cats available on the different sites, but we're afraid to bring them to our place since there isn't secure enclosed area for them.  A cat sanctuary would provide that secured area.

We have the space, the love of animals, and the ability to care for more.  We don’t have a building available currently that we could use for this, but have added several buildings in the past, so adding another wouldn’t be much of an issue.  We also need to purchase the cat-proof fencing and run electricity to the building.

All funding raised through this website will be used towards building and maintaining a cat sanctuary on our farm.
