Hello Family, Friends & Supporters! In 2011, I established an all-girls fashion design camp which has grown into the "Sketching Dreams, ‘Sew’ They’re Possible’ Fashion Design and Creative Academy." which takes place during the Summer and will now provide monthly socials, mentoring, art competitions, scholarships and encouragement throughout the school year.
Please help us in reaching our next milestone to officially obtain our non-profit/501(c)(3) status as well as increasing our attendance to 60 future stars and expanding into a 3 day camp for 2016 by making a donation today. Our fundraising completion goal date is July 15th, 2016.
The purpose of the academy is to engage, encourage and enrich the lives of young ladies that reside within the state of Virginia through career development and mentoring in an industry that interest them, the Arts. As a fashion designer and style expert with years of experience, I know first-hand how discouraging it can be to pursue any career in the Arts and through our academy we seek to bridge the “runway” by creating opportunity.
Enthusiastically, I am proud to offer this opportunity to our youth at NO COST! Acceptance into our academy will always remain free and though it is open to ALL female youth between the ages of 10-17, preference in selection is given to those young ladies that reside in single-parent and/or lower income homes. Young ladies with disabilities are extremely encouraged to apply as our trained team of camp coordinators are well equipped to readily assist and instruct.
For the past three years I have personally financed this academy because I have faith and know that it will facilitate career success and build the confidence of our ‘future stars’ through early exposure, guidance and hands-on experience in the Arts.
