Hello everyone my name is Shameka Woodley and I'm currently battling the horrible disease of breast cancer (triple negative).  I was also pregnant while having breast cancer.  I recently gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, although she was 2 months early she's doing wonderful.  She was in the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) at CHKD, now she's currently in the Special Care Nursery at Norfolk General Hospital, and is doing well. I was taking chemotheraphy while carrying her, her survival rate was risky, but I was willing to take the risk.  The  Doctor's suggested termination but I was against their word.  God had the last say so in my book, so I prayed and left it in his hands.  I'm pleased with the outcome although she's premature.  I'm now continuing my journey to recovery.  I have chemotheraphy for the next 3 months every Tuesday, afterwards I have radiation everyday for 5weeks, then a double mastectomy, and finally reconstruction.  I have a long road ahead of me while taking care of a new born along with two previous children.  My husband and family have been very supportive and I thank God for them and their constant prayers.  With me being out of work and my husband having to take leave (FMLA) when I'm not feeling well, the medical and travel expenses has put a financial strain on our household.  Thank you in advance for your monetary donations, all is appreciated.
