Help MaryBeth Benison Shake Off ALS

This page is in honor of my sister Mary Beth Benison.  In June she was diagnosed with Mesothelioma and aggressive form of lung cancer.  In August she underwent a major surgery to remove the mesothelioma tumor and while recovering from the surgery she continued to deal with other symptoms that were unrelated to the cancer. After months of tests and doctor's appointments it was determined that Mary Beth also had ALS.  In fact, they believe she has had ALS for possibly 4 years. Mary Beth is a 10 year Breast Cancer Survivor and in 1999 had a Brain Tumor removed and that resulted in partial paralysis of her face and neck, partial hearing loss and having to learn to walk, talk and eat again.  She continues to fight an autoimmune disease and undergoes treatment for that on a monthly basis. I want to share her unbelievable story with you because she is truly the most courageous woman who has the most beautiful spirit. Despite all of her challenges she continues to fight and while every day isn't perfect she tries real hard to keep her spirits up and live her life.  She attributes a lot of her strength to the support she has received from many family and friends. Truth be told, Mary Beth is an inspiration to all of us and she has touched all of our lives in more ways that she will ever know. She is an amazing wife, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, in-law and friend to so many. She is the owner of CocoBeni Confections cupcake shop, a dream she realized in October of 2011.  
In less than a year her life has changed drastically and in a few short months, ALS has changed her life permanently. As you know, there are ongoing medical expenses that she will continue to have, whether is it making her house handicap accessible or getting different medical supplies and equipment.
