Watch #Singabantu - We Are Human

We are Sophie & Louise Kanza, co-founders of Sophie A Kanza NPC based in Johannesburg.

#Singabantu – We are human is an Afrophobia awareness short film shot in the remains of a Rosettenville Johannesburg, South Africa house burnt to the ground during service delivery protests that turned into a nationwide wave of Afrophobic attacks.

The video stars a diverse group of African migrant youth in calling for unity, love and tolerance.

The video won the “I Am Migrant” award. The only African recipient at the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations Plural Plus festival. The award ceremony took place on the 10th of November 2017 in New York City. You can view it Here.

#Singabantu was shown at the Global Migration Film Festival in Geneva Switzerland on 9 December 2017. In 2018, #Singabantu will be screen at Seattle Children’s Film Festival USA,  Molodiya Festival Ukraine & New York African Film Festival as well as selectd to show at the Seoul Guro Festival in South Korea.

We have been invited to host an #AfrophobiaAwareness workshop at the DeGrowth Conference in Malmö, Sweden 21-25 August 2018.

We are in need of funds for travel ( return tickets to Sweden from Johannesburg, South Africa) as well as accomodation and expenses for the 5 days.
