Fight Like a Warrior /Maria Childs

   Maria Childs is the wife of a firefighter, Scott Childs, mother of three, second grade school teacher,  children's author, and  fighting the hardest battle of her life.
    In 2012, she was diagnosed with melanoma, (stage 4 metastasized to lung and liver), to which there is no cure and now 2015 breast cancer.
     Maria amazes us all with her faith, positive attitude, and determination to not let this disease steal the things she holds most precious to her.
     She is proof that life  goes on when you have cancer and she does it with beauty and grace every day of her life. 
    She makes everyone a priority, whether that's at work, home, or with all the activities her children are in. She always gives 100% even when she isn't feeling 100%.
     One can only imagine the cost associated with battling cancer and our desire is to raise money to help her in anyway she needs.
     Miles to Melanoma run/walk is an event that her friends and neighbors are hosting on May 23rd, to help educate others about the dangers of melanoma, while also helping raise money for such a deserving person.
