At Shooting For Success Foundation, we believe in providing the opportunity for our young athletes to grow both on and off the court.
We believe travel abroad for basketball training and competion is one of these opportunities.
I know this first hand.
As a young man who got to play professional ball all over the world, I experienced many cultures. I learned several languages. My own world grew so much larger. With that, so did my dreams.
Today, as Coach and Trainer at Shooting For Success, I have also seen how profound it can be when teams of different races, cultures, and backgrounds come together in their love of sport. I have seen athletes transformed into leaders. Our young men and women who have competed abroad return home as changed individuals.
This July, Shooting for Success has the opportunity to send its 13U Boys Team to Fuzhou, China for a series of exhibition games. While in China, the team will visit historical sights as well as participate in once-in-a-lifetime cultural and educational opportunities.
It is no easy feat to send a team to China to play ball. We hope to raise up to 30-Thousand dollars to help cover the costs.
