Serving Others Souls & Empathy Up

Serving Other Souls is a 501(c)3 non-profit built to create and implement service projects or events to raise money or goods for souls in need while training our 171 middle-school student members to increase their empathy and decrease their apathy by volunteering at our SOS events. By interacting with the needy that we serve, our student-members train to become servant-leaders that will help our world and the souls upon it for years to come. In addition, the time, talent, and/or treasure SOS offers at these events works to decrease or end the need or crisis being serviced and helps these souls feel the hope that will inspire them after we complete the service project. SOS recently received the Jefferson Award as one of the top non-profits in Western Pennsylvania. Our amazing growth since our inception in 2011 has fueled our desire to create multiple chapters of SOS at other public school districts in Pittsburgh. We would need to hire our first full time employee to meet this goal. We are also seek capital materials such as a SOS van to carry all our supplies to events. This funding campaign will not only help us bolster the services and funds we can offer the needy, but it will also help us reach our goals of multiple chapters and transportation needs for the organization.
