I'm Jeremiah Selvey, and I graduated from the School of Music at the University of Washington in December. After many music lessons (thanks to my parents and awesome teachers), a voice degree, and a couple choral conducting degrees, I am now a doctor (D.M.A.)! And I would like for you to become a part of helping to commemorate and celebrate this amazing milestone in my life.
Traditionally, I would send out graduation announcements and you may or may not send me a card and/or a gift. I decided to forego those formalities in favor of actually connecting with my family, friends, and colleagues here...I am asking you to have a direct impact on this event by donating to help fund the purchase of my UW doctoral regalia, as well as a party for my Seattle area peeps and me to celebrate this moment.
***I would LOVE it if each of you donated even just a little. This project is more about you being a part of this experience and memory with me, regardless of how much you give.***
Why do I ask YOU to donate, even if it is only $5 or $10? I will print a list of my supporters and store it with my regalia, as an ongoing reminder over the years of the wonderful people in my life. So, even if all you feel you can contribute is $5, it will still mean a lot to me, and I will love seeing your name on the list! Every time I wear my regalia (at least twice per year, now that I teach in academia), I will remember the crowdsourced support of my friends, family, and colleagues. (Of course, larger donations will help me reach the goal more quickly, but that goes without saying.)
Thank you to hundreds of you for helping me at various points in time to make the progress that led me to this point in time. I now teach in higher education, and I could not be more content! I dedicate this moment to the MANY who believed in me, who put up with me, and who continue to support me as I continue to move through life's journey.

1. Doctoral Regalia - $1,000 (inlcuding shipping) - See Option 3
2. Blowout Party - $500 (for venue/catering) - TBD
3. $150 - Covers the 7.9% +$0.30/donation that GoFundMe charges.
