Alyssa's Hair Piece Fund

My name is Alyssa Schmeck and I was diagnosed with Alopecia Areata at age 11. All of my hair fell out completely by the time I was 12, so I applied to get hair pieces from Locks of Love. Locks of Love was perfect giving me free wigs that fit me perfectly every year and a half. This was the perfect situation until I turned 21, when they just stopped helping out. Now that I made it as an adult for a few years they think that I don't need the help anymore. (This is the policy for all recipients that once they turn 21, Locks of Love does not help them anymore.) Purchasing a new one is completely out of the question since they are thousands of dollars. For the past two years I've been having my old wigs refurbished for about $500 each. They get sent somewhere in California for about a month and a half and then come back looking good as new. My head stopped changing shape so this option is the best I could find. Unfortunately, the prices of refurbishment are going up and I'm not sure that I can afford it. I've been so used to having hair since my body deprived me of it because of the Alopecia, and I just can't imagine losing my hair a second time. Please help me raise enough money to keep getting my hair refurbished!
