Saving Chestnut

Hey everyone,
Yesterday, 7/21/14, I was on my motorcycle on my way to work when I came upon an injured kitten in the middle of the street dodging traffic. I got him off the street and he was in pretty bad shape. None of the shelters in the area were open, so my fiance and I did the only thing we could and took him to a 24 hour urgent care vet. We needed to take responsibility for his medical costs in order to get him treated. Right now his costs for just the first visit are about $1200. He's got nerve damage in his right front leg (may or may not be temporary) and some pretty severe head trauma. We're doing our best to save him (we fully intend to adopt him) but money is tight right now. We're saving for our wedding next May, and the upcoming costs of his care are going to really hurt our savings. I'm hoping to reach out to people to help us save him, and help us in the recovery process. It will be long process, he's definitely going to need a lot of care and rehab. We're hoping today to be able to transfer him to a primary care vet for a while to keep him under observation.
For those curious, we've named him Chestnut, after the street where I found him.
