After talking to Preethi's father, we thought this is the right time to send the collected amount and halt this fund raiser !
So far $10,543 funds are raised by the donors. These funds will be transferred to Preethi's father's bank account immediately !

Sri Venkateswara University postponed the examinations of engineering stream for a week to let students collect donations to save the life of a student preethi.
About 540 students of final year engineering rushed to the director of the college, V Vijayakumar Reddy with a request to allow them to go out and collect donations by skipping classes. Touched by the students resolve, the college management, too, offered assistance and allowed the students to spare no efforts in collecting donations. Forming about 30 groups, the students went around Nellore town and nearby villages for nearly a week and started collecting donations.

One of my friends, Esther Preethi, doing her final year
engineering in a town named Madanapalli in Andhra Pradesh, India, is affected
by a disease because of which her liver stopped functioning and is now
completely bed ridden.
It will cost approximately 5,000,000 Indian Rupees
(almost $100,000) for liver transplantation, as told by the doctor
operating her. She hails from a poor family and her family cannot afford the
needed amount for treatment. Few local organizations in India have already
taken initiative to raise funds for the purpose.
As my part, I started a fund raiser to collect funds and support their family get the money needed for the operation. As their family lives in India, I took the initiative to transfer all the collected funds to the girl’s family by end of November 2012.
I request
you all to take part in this noble cause and save a life. Whether it is $1 or $5 or $10 or $20 or $50
or $100 any amount.
