Sarah's Recovery Fund

Sarah Salazar was admitted to the Emergency Room on March 11, 2015 with severe abdominal pain. She stayed in the ICU for three weeks with a diagnosis of a small blood clot which was preventing blood flow to her small intestine.  On April 2, 2015 she was transferred to UCLA-Santa Monica Medical Center and was rushed into an emergency surgery due to a CT scan finding perforations in her small intestine. During this time her body had gone septic and surgery was not gauranteed to help her survive. During surgery, gangrene was present in her small intestine and the surgery team removed a large amount of her small and large intestine. She required three surgeries and was sedated for 18 days to ensure the infection was gone. She was left with an open wound and is now using a WOUND V.A.C. to help close her wound.

Sarah was discharged from the hospital on May 8, 2015 and is now home recieving home health care by three different nurses and is on her way to recovery. We are fudraising money to help cover the costs of Sarah being unable to work, withdrawl from her semester of Graduate School, and the expenses that will result during her extensive recovery. We hope you can donate whatever you are able to.
